She graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Film production program. Grace was her first role on screen in The Crow: City of Angels. While filming The Crow she auditioned and was cast in the family drama 7th Heaven. The following year, she appeared in part in The Amanda Show. And in 2003, she appeared playing a character in the Disney Channel Original Movie: Right on Track. Beverly Mitchell was reluctant to play in Saw 2: The Horror Sequel in 2005 as she admitted that she wasn't an avid fan of horror films. In 2007 Beverly Mitchell appeared in Lifetime's movie, I Have No Idea What I Saw. Mitchell was cast as a school counselor on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which first aired on January 11, the 11th of January, 2011. Beverly Mitchell was the realization of her lifelong dream to sing country music. It took her up to 2006 before she and the producer D. Scott Miller to create her first album. The songs she co-wrote are eight of the albums songs including the hit song Angel. Mitchell's close acquaintance Angela she was just 15 years old when she died loss of life in April 1997 as a result of an accident in the road, passed away on 11th April 1997. The loss was very painful for Mitchell and the track Angel from her album debut was composed to honor Angela. The song was featured in the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she wrote about her experiences. The close friend of Mitchell Angela passed away in a tragic car accident in the year she turned fifteen years old. Mitchell was unable to cope with the loss and Angela was the source of inspiration for her song Angel the song, which is on her debut album. Mitchell has also spoken about the experiences during Chicken Soup, for Preteen Souls and 7th Heaven: Nothing Endures But Change.
